'Zoom Out' is a similar situation to Omni-Vision' but with a different approach. In this song, I'm taking the perspective of the OTHER person in the relationship who is not so much experiencing a self-aware epiphany themselves as much as they're attempting to get their partner/friend/family member to attain this self-awareness. The lyrics reference generational trauma and patterns in behavior without the level of accountability required to stop the pattern, driving the point home by referencing the idiom 'Can't see the forest for the trees'.
lyrics
Driving up the mountain and getting to the peak
And realizing you left the oven on
I just met your mama, finally heard her speak
And now I know where you get it from
You built a bubble and made it your prison
You swim in puddles and think they are seas
You can't see the forest for the trees
I said you need to zoom out, you said you don't know how
I guess you don't know what I'm talkin 'bout
You've always been an old trout so why would that change now
You don't wanna swim upstream anyway
You built a bubble and made it your prison
You swim in puddles and think they are seas
You can't see the forest for the trees
You can't see the forest for the trees
Why don't you take a good long look in the mirror
And tell me what you see
Is the image getting any clearer
Is it who you wanna be
Is it who you wanna be
You can't see the forest for the trees (trees)
For the trees (trees)
I think the most comfort I've felt in this life was being fifteen and playing this game at 2am. Words cannot describe how much this game meant to me caracalled
